Our Center offers stimulating learning opportunities for students of every age, starting at six weeks and continuing until kindergarten. Children are enthusiastic learners. Our job is to provide age appropriate educational programs that follow the interest of the children and are challenging, exploratory and fun. We are open at 7:00am and close at 5:30pm, Monday-Friday. Don’t be surprised to hear your child say, "Guess what I learned today” after a day at The Learning Center!
The Learning Center has proudly operated in Wilmington for over 30 years! Our Center is nestled on almost 2 acres with large playgrounds, and is also conveniently located off MLK Parkway and 23rd Street in Wilmington, North Carolina. We began as a 4 classroom school and grew to a 12 classroom Center. We were in the pilot program for the NC Star Rated License and were among the first centers in Wilmington to receive 5 stars. We were also one of the first schools in Wilmington to implement the "Project Approach” Curriculum, a cutting edge curriculum that follows the interest of the children.
The 5 Star License rating indicates the highest level of quality standards that few centers achieve. A rating of one star means that a child care program meets North Carolina’s minimum licensing standards for child care. Programs that choose to voluntarily meet higher standards can apply for a two to five star license. Our 5 Star License demonstrates our dedication to provide the quality care and educational excellence your child deserves. It also provides you with peace of mind that you’ve made the right choice for your child.
